A homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation after a structure fire in the 500 block of Lee Road 115 in Beauregard on Tuesday evening, Oct. 20, 2026.

According to the Salem Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters from Beauregard, Salem and Southwest Lee County fire departments were dispatched around 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, two Salem firefighters assisted with fire suppression while a third firefighter operated Tanker 512 to supply water to Beauregard VFD Engine 214, which provided hose lines used to fight the fire.

During the incident, Tanker 512 pumped approximately 2,700 gallons of water and made one trip to a nearby hydrant as part of the water shuttle operation.

The homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation by East Alabama EMS LLC. The Lee County Emergency Management Agency also responded and provided specialized equipment at the scene.

The American Red Cross of Alabama was contacted and is expected to assist the homeowner.

Photos from the scene show extensive fire and smoke damage inside the home, with heavily charred walls, exposed ceiling rafters, damaged kitchen appliances and furniture, and debris covering much of the floor. Insulation and other building materials appear to have fallen from the ceiling, while several areas of the interior sustained significant fire damage.

Firefighters are seen working inside the damaged structure as they assess the scene and address the aftermath of the fire.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lee County Emergency Management Agency were also on scene. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately provided.
