LaGrange man driving van attempts to strike pedestrian in parking lot

LaGrange police are investigating an attempted vehicle versus pedestrian incident Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the parking lot of 804 Whitesville Road around 2 A.M. on June 1, 2025.
Police say their detective was driving down Whitesville Road when he observed the driver of a Honda Odyssey Van attempting to strike a pedestrian.
The driver was identified as Darrell Brown and taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault. He was transported to the Troup County Jail.
“The LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division has assumed responsibility for the investigation, which remains active and ongoing,” police said. “Brown was not on probation or parole at the time of his arrest.”
