CNAW Newsroom —
LaGrange man killed on McGregor Street after multiple suspects start shooting
1 of 2

A LaGrange man is dead after being shot when multiple suspects began shooting in the late morning hours of October 8, 2022.

Image: LaGrange Police Department Police responded to Carver Street at Brown Streets, at approximately 11:10 A.M., about shots being fired, but when they arrived on the scene they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest at 105 McGregor Street.

Emergency Medical Aid was provided and the man was transported to the Well Star West Georgia. The man, later identified as Charlie Dudley, was pronounced deceased due to the injuries sustained.

Officers located two cars at 201 Brown Street that had been hit by bullets and determined that another victim was driving one of the cars when it was shot. The second victim was not injured but appeared to be the target of the shooting.

Dudley was not involved in the incident and was struck by one of the rounds fired by the suspects shooting at the second victim.

The investigation revealed that Christon Ridgeway, of LaGrange, was one of the multiple suspects responsible for the shooting.  Ridgeway has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Murder.

The investigation remains active and police are asking for public assistance in identifying the other suspects involved.

If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706 812-1000.
