CNAW Newsroom —
LaGrange woman passed away two days after HWY. 280 crash in Salem

A LaGrange woman has died after serious crash earlier this week in the Salem community of Lee County.

The collision, which involved a 2015 Lincoln MKZ and a 2017 Nissan Sentra, occurred on U.S. Highway 280 at Lee Road 158, around 3:21 P.M. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the driver of the Lincoln, identified as Melinda R. Adams, was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional with critical injuries, but was pronounced deceased on Friday, August 29, 2025.

The 32-year-old driver of the Nissan was also transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional for medical treatment. A 17-year-old juvenile passenger of the Lincoln was also injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
