The investigation into the death of 2-year-old Madilynn Hadaway has resulted in the arrest of the child’s mother, according to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities announced that Sierra Shay Hadaway, 22, of Lanett, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of her daughter.

Investigators say the child died on June 12, 2026. During the investigation, authorities learned that Madilynn’s arms, legs, and ankles were allegedly bound and that she was placed face down on a bed for more than 12 hours.

According to investigators, it is believed the child died from asphyxiation.

Hadaway is currently being held at the Chambers County Detention Facility without bond.
