1 of 7

A large brush fire is underway in the Beulah community of Lee County.

The fire is taking place in the 2100 block of Lee Road 334, off of Lee Road 379. Fire crews were dispatched to the area around 1:25 p.m. eastern time on Saturday, Mar. 7, 2026.

Beulah Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and requested assistance from Smiths Station Fire and Rescue. Smiths Station Fire Chief Blake Green says his department responded with a brush truck and three firefighters.

The fire reportedly began as a man attempting to burn some land, according to property owners. The fire got out of control and spread across five other land owners’ property.

Green says a dump truck and multiple tires caught on fire, but crews were able to keep the fire from reaching any structures.

Alabama Forestry Commission crews are on scene and according to their website – the fire is at 23 acres.

No injuries have been reported.
