UPDATE (04/07/2024 at 7:56 P.M.): SWFD units were dispatched to a working structure fire in the 500 block of Lee Road 1 around 2:14 P.M. First-due trucks were en route within two minutes of the first alarm.

“On scene, first units set up command with a fully-involved mobile home structure. A 360 by command noted a vehicle and an adjacent shed structure in danger,” SWFD said. A defensive attack was established, and remained for the duration of the call.

The fire was declared under control within an hour and units were on scene for just over three hours. While the structure was a total loss, fortunately the residents were not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported to civilians or first responders.

SWFD was assisted via automatic and mutual aid by units from Farmville Fire, Beauregard Fire, Notasulga Fire, East Alabama EMS, Lee County EMA, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Red Cross.

Original story: Southwest Lee County Fire Department are responding to a structure fire Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire is taking place at a structure on Lee Road 1 between Notasulga and Loachapoka. Details are limited at this time.

This remains a developing story.
