Lee County man arrested after attempting to solicit alleged 12-year-old girl for purpose of sexual favors

CNAW Newsroom —
Lee County man arrested after attempting to solicit alleged 12-year-old girl for purpose of sexual favors

Lee County investigators have arrested an Opelika man after information from another agency was received on April 7th, 2022 regarding Robert Joseph Stetina attempting to solicit what he thought was a 12 year old female for the purpose of sexual favors.

Lee County Investigators also discovered that Stetina sent child sexual abuse material  and nude photos of himself to the alleged 12 year old.

The information led to arrest warrants being obtained for Stetina on May 11th, 2022 which led up to investigators conducting a search warrant at his residence located in the 300 block of North 2nd street in Opelika where he was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County jail.

Stetina was arrested and charged with one count of Child Solicitation by computer and one count of Distributing Pornography to Minors. More charges are expected and Stetina is being held in the Lee County Jail on a $31,000.00 bond.

At the time of this arrest, Stetina was out of jail on a $210,000.00 bond after being arrested on February 8th, 2022 by Lee County Investigators February 8th 2022 on 21 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 334-749-5651 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).
