    Lee County law enforcement and state officials are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision early Tuesday morning.

    The crash between a motorcycle and a deer occurred on Lee Road 254 near Wacoochee Elementary School off of Highway 280 around 4:30 A.M. CDT on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

    Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton confirmed the motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Tyler Smith, of Salem, was pronounced dead on scene at 5:00 A.M. CDT.

    The accident is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers Division.
