Russell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the stabbing death of a woman at the Fort Michell Volunteer Fire Department which occurred in the overnight hours on September 2nd.

Authorities were called to the fire department located near the intersection of Nuckols Road at Blackbottom Road where they found a female with apparent stab wounds.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. identified the female as 37-year-old Treasure Hennessey. She was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:15 A.M. Authorities announced today charges in connection to the murder. Bradley Wayne Stokes is charged with Capital Murder.

Records suggest Stokes was found guilty in a manslaughter case of Crystal Bailey in Russell County. Stokes served 14 out of 16 years and was freed from prison in early June.

Stokes and Hennessey were in a relationship, according to authorities and facebook posts made by both the victim and suspect. Hennessey was reportedly 8-weeks pregnant.

Stokes fled the scene after allegedly stabbing and killing Hennessey at the firehouse, which she lived at to avoid Stokes.

“After receiving information about his location, the MCSO Special Operations Unit and Russell County Investigations, located Bradley Stokes in Muscogee County,” Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office said.

Upon locating Stokes, MCSO Patrol deputies attempted a traffic stop and the suspect attempted to flee. Deputies utilized a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver to immobilize the fleeing vehicle and apprehend Stokes without further incident.

Bradley Stokes was transported to the Muscogee County Jail without further incident and he awaits extradition back to Alabama.
