Multiple fire crews across Lee County had an eventful Friday evening into Saturday morning after being dispatched to a structure fire.

Salem Fire Department, and Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department, responded for a reported residential structure fire with entrapment in 400 block of Lee Road 705.

“The caller was reporting the residence to be fully engulfed with an occupant and animals trapped inside,” Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department said. “Upon arrival, fire units found a single wide mobile home well involved with multiple structures in danger.”

Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hand lines and began an aggressive attack. Multiple mutual aid companies, including Southwest Volunteer Fire Department and Smiths Station Fire and Rescue. were requested to the scene due to the possibility of someone being inside.

“The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the occupant of the residence was later accounted for,” the department added.

No injuries were reported on scene. East Alabama EMS, along with Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Lee County Emergency Management Agency were also on scene.
