A child abuse case in Columbus involving two-month-old twins have left their parents in custody, according to Columbus police.

The investigation began after Columbus police officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Hal’s Way in reference to child abuse on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

“Upon police arrival, it was determined that a 2-month-old male had been transported to Martin Army Community Hospital by his parents after he became unresponsive,” police said. The 2-year old male was discharged. The 2-month-old twins were later admitted to a nearby children’s hospital.

Due to the severity of injuries received by both twins while in the care of their parents, the following warrants were issued for each parent, 26-year-old Scott Sartin and 24-year-old Jada Sartin:

• Aggravated Battery Family Violence- 2 counts

• Cruelty to Children Family Violence in the 1st Degree- 2 counts

• Cruelty to Children Family Violence in the 2nd Degree- 2 counts

Both Scott and Jada Sartin were arrested on March 7, 2024 without incident.
