Phenix City fire crews are investigating a second house fire on the same street.
Phenix City police and fire officials responded to 1307 17th Court — located in a residential neighborhood off of Crawford Road — around 2 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for a fully involved house fire. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen billowing from the home.
CNAW2News crews visited the scene Saturday afternoon and saw all four walls of the home still standing but the roof collapsed, along with wires hanging down and extensive fire damage. Crime scene tape reading “fire line do not cross” cordoned off the property to preserve any evidence.
This is the second house fire on the street in less than a week. Early Wednesday around 1:54 a.m., fire crews responded to a fully involved house fire at 1305 17th Court, which is directly next door to the second fire.
It is unclear the cause of both fires and if anyone was injured. The investigation remains ongoing.
