Power outages have disabled traffic signals along several major roadways in Opelika Saturday afternoon, prompting police to urge motorists to use caution.
According to the Opelika Police Department, as of approximately 3:05 p.m. EST, traffic signals were without power along Pepperell Parkway, Frederick Road, Gateway Drive and surrounding corridors.
Motorists approaching intersections with dark or flashing traffic signals should treat them as four-way stops, police said.
Drivers are also urged to slow down, yield properly and proceed through intersections with caution to help prevent crashes.
Opelika Power Services is working to restore power, according to police.
