PSA: Phenix City Police to stop responding to private property accidents

CNAW Newsroom —
PSA: Phenix City Police to stop responding to private property accidents

The Phenix City Police Department has announced to its citizens a public service announcement.

According to the department, As of Monday, October 28th, 2024, they will no longer respond to the scene of a private property accident.

“In an effort to better prioritize emergency calls, Officers will not work accidents that occur on private property unless there is an injury, suspicion of driving under the influence, or an emergency circumstance,” police said. If citizens call 911 to report a private property accident, they will be directed to go to the City of Phenix City website and file a report using the citizen self-reporting system.

“Our goal is to allow our officers to be more readily available to respond to emergencies and matters of criminal activity by reducing the number of non-criminal related calls that we respond to,” they added.

Citizens can file online reports at phenixcityal.gov.
