Serious crash reported at Lee Road 145 near Lee Road 195 in Salem

A serious motor vehicle accident has occurred in Salem on Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 2:45 P.M. on Saturday in the area of Lee Road 145 and Lee Road 195. A fatality is being reported, according to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones. ALEA confirms the accident involves only one vehicle.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Salem Volunteer Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers, and other agencies are on scene. Lee County EMA sent out a notification with information suggesting anyone traveling in the area to find alternative routes. “All lanes of Lee County 145, in Lee County are currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time,” ALEA added. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are currently on scene investigating.
