A suspect has been arrested following a high speed chase.
The chase began around 9:30 p.m. central time on Thursday, March 26, 2026, on Interstate 85 in Opelika. The chase was seen on Bent Creek Road, and was eventually later seen on Alabama Department of Transportation traffic cameras passing Beehive Road on Interstate 85.
Opelika police say they lost sight of the vehicle but located it a short time later and were able to arrest the suspect.

The suspect, identified as Joshua Ernesto Doray Sanford, 31, from Montgomery, AL, was arrested for attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. Sanford was also charged with possession of marijuana in the second degree.
Sanford posted bond Friday morning.
