Two Montgomery men are in custody following a reported shoplifting incident that led to a vehicle pursuit and foot chase along Interstate 85.

At approximately 12:05 p.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to Burlington Coat Factory, located at 2746 Enterprise Drive, in response to a shoplifting complaint. Witnesses at the scene informed authorities that the suspects fled in a blue Crown Victoria.

Just over 20 minutes later, at around 12:26 p.m., a patrol officer spotted a vehicle matching the description near the Office Depot in the area. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the scene, heading southbound on I-85. The pursuit continued until the suspects exited the interstate just past Exit 57 in Auburn and fled on foot.
