Three animals perish in Beauregard house fire Friday night

CNAW Newsroom —
Three animals perish in Beauregard house fire Friday night

Multiple animals perished in a Friday night fire in the Beauregard community of Lee County.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department, Southwest Volunteer Fire Department, and Lee County Emergency Management Agency responded to a house fire taking place in the 1600 block of Lee Road 42, which is approximately two miles south of the main fire station one.

The home was fully involved when crews arrived and the home appears to be a total loss.

The fire was eventually controlled by firefighters in approximately three hours, according to Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department officials.

Thankfully, no occupants were inside and four animals were rescued. Sadly, three other animals did perish in the blaze.

The American Red Cross was notified. It is unclear what caused the fire.
