CNAW Newsroom —
Three men rob subject at gunpoint at Hogansville truck stop, then lead deputies on chase

At least one person is facing charges after a Thursday night armed robbery at a popular Hogansville truck stop and then leading police on a high-speed chase.

The incident began when a Hogansville officer was dispatched to 1621 Bass Cross Road, which is Love’s Truck Stop, on November 10th, 2022, at approximately 8:00 P.M. about a subject robbed at gunpoint.

“The suspects left the area in a silver Lexus, headed south on Interstate 85

and per the victim, the vehicle appeared to be occupied by three African American males,”

police said. A Be on The Lookout (BOLO) was dispatched to surrounding counties about the vehicle.

Troup County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle in the area of Rakestraw Rd. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle refused to stop. The vehicle was pursued throughout the county and onto Interstate 185 northbound. The vehicle was stopped by using the Pursuit Intervention Technique (P.IT), at mile marker 37 on Interstate 185 North.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and the two passengers of the vehicle are still at large.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as Joshua Anderson, of Jonesboro, GA.

Joshua Anderson is being charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a firearm during a commission of a crime, and Aggravated Assault. Joshua Anderson was transported to Troup County Jail. Other charges will be pending for Mr. Anderson and the passengers of the vehicle.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident or the identity of the passengers in the vehicle is encouraged to contact SGT. S. Williams of the Hogansville Police Department Investigations Division by telephone, at (706) 637-6648 or email [email protected].

Police ended the press release by saying, “Just a reminder that the Hogansville Police Department is a safe place to conduct any type of legal online sale or transaction. If it does not feel right, then it’s probably not. Be safe!”
