A tragic UTV accident in northern Troup County has claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy and injured three others Saturday evening.

Deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office along with other first responders were dispatched on September 30th at 6:34 P.M. to a residence in the 900 block of N. “While enroute to the location it was relayed to those responding to the scene, that a total of four patients were injured including one with very serious injuries,” authorities said.

Three of the patients were transported to a Columbus area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and one was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center. Tragically, one of the patients, a 12 year old male, received injuries that were fatal and he was pronounced deceased.
