Twin City FOP Lodge #21 kicks off 58th Annual Toy Drive to help Lee County families
Key takeaways
  • Twin City FOP Lodge #21 launches 58th annual toy drive; registration begins November 2 to help Lee County families.
  • Eligible children ages 2-9 can receive toys; pickup scheduled December 16-17 at Lee County Sheriff's Office.

The Twin City Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #21 is preparing to spread Christmas cheer to local families through its 58th annual toy drive, with donations and family registration beginning November 2.

The annual tradition dates back to 1968 and brings the community together to provide Christmas gifts for children in need throughout Lee County. In 2025, the toy drive helped more than 160 families put presents under their Christmas trees. Organizers hope to help even more families this year.

How to Register for Christmas Assistance

Parents and guardians can find registration forms online at leecosheriffal.gov/toydrive.

Completed forms will only be accepted on the following dates from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. CST at the Lee County Sheriff's Office: • Monday, November 2 • Wednesday, November 4 • Tuesday, November 10 • Wednesday, November 18

No registration forms will be accepted outside these designated times.

Applicants must bring a printed copy of the completed registration form along with the following documents: • Birth certificate for each child • Proof of residency • State-issued photo ID or passport • Court-issued guardianship paperwork, if the applicant is not the child's parent

To qualify, children must be between 2 and 9 years old and live in Lee County, Alabama.

Children are not eligible if they are already participating in another Christmas assistance program or have participated in this toy drive for three of the past five years.

Registered, eligible families will be able to pick up toys on December 16 and 17, giving parents and guardians a little extra help ahead of Christmas morning.

Where to Donate Toys

Community members and local businesses can support the effort by donating toys from November 2 through December 11. Donations can be dropped off during each location's normal business hours at the following collection sites:

• Lee County Sheriff's Office: 1900 Frederick Road, Opelika • Opelika Fire Department, Station 1: 604 Avenue B, Opelika • Stone Martin Builders: 107 N. 9th Street, Opelika • Toy Bunker: 500 N. 26th Street, Suite 206, Opelika

Every donation helps Twin City FOP Lodge #21 continue its decades-long tradition of bringing Christmas joy to Lee County children and families.
