Two adults, three juveniles arrested after planned fight at LaGrange park leaves multiple injured

CNAW Newsroom —
Two adults, three juveniles arrested after planned fight at LaGrange park leaves multiple injured

Five individuals, including two adults and three juveniles, have been taken into custody following a violent altercation at a local park earlier this month, according to the LaGrange Police Department.

Investigators say the incident occurred March 7 behind the running track at Granger Park and came to light after officers received cellphone video showing a physical fight involving multiple people.

Police identified those involved as Brittany Adams, 33; Christianna Freeman, 17; and three female juveniles ages 16, 16, and 15.

According to the investigation, the altercation stemmed from a verbal dispute between Freeman and one of the 16-year-old juveniles that had been ongoing for several weeks. Authorities say the two agreed to settle the conflict with a planned fight at a specific time and location.

Police allege Adams drove two juveniles to the park to meet Freeman and another juvenile for the purpose of engaging in the fight. During the incident, Adams is accused of actively participating by stomping on the faces of two juveniles and using a cellphone to strike others.

Three of the juveniles suffered visible facial injuries, including bruising, while Freeman sustained a fractured nose.

Freeman was arrested on a warrant and charged with affray. The three juveniles were each issued juvenile complaints for affray.

Adams faces multiple charges, including first-degree cruelty to children, three counts of third-degree cruelty to children, family violence battery, two counts of battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

All five individuals are currently in custody and awaiting court proceedings.

Anyone with additional information about the incident is urged to contact Detective C. Montondo at 706-883-2639.
