Two men dead, female injured in Commerce Drive shooting in Auburn

CNAW Newsroom —
Two men dead, female injured in Commerce Drive shooting in Auburn

Three people have been shot, two of which are deceased, after a shooting in the 1300 block of Commerce Drive in Auburn.

Auburn Public Safety officials responded to the initial shooting call at a residence around 7:45 PM Monday night where they found two gunshot victims – a 28-year-old female and a 35-year-old male – which both had life saving measures done on them by first responders.

Witnesses on scene described the suspect as a black male wearing all dark clothing. The suspect reportedly entered into the residence and began shooting, after shooting he fled on foot.

The female was transported to a nearby trauma center for additional medical treatment, where she is in unknown condition. The male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene by emergency medical personnel.

“As officers searched the area, wherein the suspect fled, another individual suffering from a gunshot wound was located nearby,” police added. “The individual, who was wearing all dark clothing, appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound, was pronounced deceased on the scene.”

The incidents are being investigated as homicides by the Auburn Police Department and it is not believed to be a random shooting.

The case remains under investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact detectives at (334) 501-3140 or at the tip line (334) 246-1391.
