Auburn police are currently investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead inside of a park.

The woman, only identified as 59 years old, was found deceased in a wooded area of Kiesel Park on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Kiesel Park is located along Chadwick Lane in Auburn.

“The victim had injuries indicating the death was caused by an assault, and Auburn Police detectives are actively engaged in a homicide investigation,” police stated.

Investigators say a red Ford F-150 was discovered missing from an area near the crime scene. Police are requesting any sightings of the vehicle to be reported to the Auburn Police Department.

“Kiesel Park is temporarily closed to the public during the early stages of the investigation and will remain closed through the weekend,” the police said in an evening press release.

Community members are asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons to the Auburn Police Department.
