Will it rain on Halloween in Columbus GA this weekend?
Columbus has a 42 percent chance of rain Saturday, October 31 with a high near 79, and forecasters expect the wettest weather late Saturday into Sunday.

The air along the Chattahoochee RiverWalk at daybreak is about as dry as it gets around here in late October. Columbus started the morning near 55 degrees with a dew point of 43, which is why the first mile feels like sweatshirt weather and the last one does not.
That dryness is the story for the next two days. Columbus should reach about 81 this afternoon and 82 on Friday, roughly 7 degrees above the normal high of 74 for this date, though still short of the 85 recorded here on this date back in 2016. Nights stay mild, with Columbus falling only to about 54 tonight.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Peachtree City credit a stubborn area of high pressure to our northeast working with a low spinning off the Southeast coast. By Friday a storm system pushing toward the Arklatex begins to nudge moisture back into west Georgia and east Alabama, which is why Friday is warmer than today rather than cooler.
The dry side of this pattern comes with a caution. The Weather Service office in Birmingham flagged a low to medium fire weather risk this afternoon across east Alabama because of dry fuels and limited moisture in the air. If you were planning to burn brush around Opelika, Tuskegee, Valley or Lanett, today is a poor choice.
The change arrives this weekend. Saturday in Columbus looks mostly cloudy and 79 with a 42 percent chance of rain, and Sunday turns cooler at 72 with a 50 percent chance of showers and storms. Peachtree City expects the wettest weather late Saturday into Sunday, and models have trended slower and lighter with it. Birmingham's office put it plainly for Halloween evening: the timing is not settled, so plan on the possibility of rain.
Keep an umbrella by the door Saturday evening. Monday rebounds to 77 and Tuesday to 80.
