Opelika detectives are investigating a double shooting which took place in the parking lot of a shopping center, located on Pepperell Parkway.

Opelika patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire and several cars leaving Pepperell Corners shopping center. We understand two victims, both in unknown condition, were taken to East Alabama Medical Center by private vehicle.

The crime scene that was held by officers until detectives could arrive was in the parking lot of Surge Adventure Park.
