Opelika Police officials and Lee County Sheriff’s Office officials are searching for a subject late Friday morning in the area of Toomer Court.

We understand the search began when a foot pursuit began near the police headquarters and has now turned into a search for the subject.

Opelika Police said you should avoid the area until further notice.

UPDATE 11:05 AM: Subject, who is juvenile, was last spotted near Interstate 85 SB at Exit 58.
