A horrific crime scene is under investigation by several agencies in the Tallapoosa County, Alabama area.

Authorities were dispatched around 8:26 A.M. on August 1st after a motorist spotted a 12-year-old girl wandering on County Road 34 near Church Hill Road. That call led investigators and law enforcement teams to a mobile home structure.

The 12-year-old girl was transported to a nearby medical facility where physically she is doing well. At the house, two decomposed bodies were found. The bodies were retrieved and taken to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery where a post mortem examination is being done.

A suspect, identified as Jose Pascual-Reyes, was arrested by U.S. Marshal’s and Auburn Police Department on Summerville Circle in Auburn. So far, Reyes has been charged with Kidnapping 1st Degree but those charges are expected to be updated. Sheriff Jimmy Abbett says the girl made heroic efforts and the motorist definitely followed law enforcement’s motto which is: “see something, say something.”

The Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, along with Tallapoosa County District Attorney, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, United States Homeland Security, Dadeville Police and Fire Department, Camp Hill Police Department, Alexander City Police Department, Department of Human Resources, Child Advocacy Center, and Tallapoosa County EMA assisted in the investigation.
