One person was injured by gunfire Sunday night in the Loachapoka community of Lee County.

Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones says his deputies responded to a report of shots fired between two vehicles on Lee Road 398 around 7:30 P.M. central standard time on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Nearly 40 minutes later, a person came into the emergency room at East Alabama Medical Center with non life threatening injuries related to the gunfire.

An investigation is underway.
