CNAW2News has confirmed an arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a Manchester High School student athlete.

The shooting occurred around shortly before midnight on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the area of Macon Road and Crystal Drive leaving 16-year-old Daryus Bryant deceased and another victim injured.

Bryant was in Columbus for Manchester High School’s prom. Bryant was a student athlete at the school with several football offers.
Jail records via the Muscogee County Jail ECourt Portal have confirmed Zion Deshun Horton, 17, was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime.

Family members of Bryant wrote on social media, “And a little over a year, multiple leads, information, music videos later, the first arrest for the murder of DB has been made.”
“Huge shoutout to those who continued to submit and give information and willingly cooperate and assist law enforcement,” they added.
