Lee County first responders and officials with Emergency Management Agency are working multiple scenes at this hour.

During a storm Friday afternoon, a possible microburst occurred leaving numerous trees down, power outages reported, and damage done to multiple structures, including Lee County Flea Market.

Lee County Emergency Management Agency Director Rita Smith confirmed the agency has been in contact with the National Weather Service and have team members assessing damages. It is believed to have been a possible microburst and not a tornado.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Smiths Station Fire & Rescue, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and other agencies have been busy since the storm hit responding to numerous calls.
According to sources with the Flea Market, the market will be closed this weekend.
