UPDATE: Police now say the victims are both females. One female died on scene. The second victim, a 15-year-old, was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Police say there was a permitted festival that had concluded earlier in the day at 7:45 p.m. “At this time, there is no information indicating that the shooting is connected to that event,” police say.
Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting incident stemmed from an unpermitted gathering that occurred near the far west end of the park.
