A roll-off truck caught on fire and a deputy’s vehicle got struck by a vehicle at the same scene in Smiths Station tonight.
The incident began Wednesday night when a roll-off truck caught fire in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 280 near Lee Road 456.
As Smiths Station Fire Protection District was extinguished the blaze and Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were directing traffic at the scene, a passerby in an SUV in the westbound lanes struck a patrol Tahoe causing heavy damage to both vehicles.
Since both incidents, both westbound lanes are blocked and the right lane of eastbound is blocked.
