Two men arrested in human trafficking, drug trafficking investigation

Two men were arrested in Columbus earlier this week in a trafficking investigation.

Brandon Reyes and Raul Reyes Nepomuceno were arrested on January 23, 2026, on charges of trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, or methamphetamine, trafficking a person for sexual servitude, pimping, possession and use of drug related objects and keeping a place for prostitution.

Reyes was booked into the Muscogee County Jail at 6:49 a.m. and Nepomuceno was booked at 10:27 a.m.

On January 22, 2026, Columbus Police assisted the DEA in a traffic stop tied to a federal human trafficking and drug investigation.

The stop led to search warrants at two residences (Lacey Oak Court and Clay Drive), where evidence of human trafficking, prostitution, and drug trafficking was found. Two men—Raul Reyes-Nepomuceno (53) and Brandon Reyes-Escano (23)—were arrested.

Authorities seized methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, drug paraphernalia, condoms, phones, ledgers, sexual health products, lingerie, and a Mexican passport. Both suspects are being held at Muscogee County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on January 29, 2026.

The DEA led the investigation with assistance from CPD, ICE, and other units. The suspects are alleged to have ties to the CJNG cartel, and Reyes-Nepomuceno was found to be unlawfully in the U.S.

The investigation is ongoing.
