Firefighters are working to extinguish a structure fire Saturday night.

The fire was reported at a home on Mercer Drive in the Crawford community of Russell County. CNAW2News.com began receiving word of the blaze around 6:15 p.m. eastern standard time.

Crawford, Ladonia, and Uchee Creek volunteer fire departments are on scene, along with CARE Ambulance and Russell County’s Sheriff’s Office.

The home appears to be fully involved in fire, and smoke could be seen billowing from the area several miles away. Two nearby structures were in danger by the fire, but fire crews appear to be to preventing the fire from jumping.

The occupant of the home was able to get out and he is not injured. Authorities remain working at the scene.
