Auburn police say a man was injured after falling near stadium during police foot pursuit following trespassing call.
The incident began when Auburn police officers responded to a criminal trespass complaint in the area of the 200 block of South Donahue Drive around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026. While Auburn police did not specify the exact location, we are told by sources it was at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
As officers arrived, they located multiple individuals inside and attempted to detain them. As they attempted to do so, an individual, a 22-year-old white male, fled the scene on foot.
During the ensuing foot pursuit, the individual fell from a significant height and sustained serious injuries. Officers immediately rendered medical aid and initiated life-saving measures.
The Auburn Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to assist.
The individual was transported by helicopter to a regional hospital for further treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation. Auburn University said in a statement:
“Early this morning, a visitor to the Auburn University campus was injured while trespassing at Jordan‑Hare Stadium. Emergency personnel responded immediately, and the person was transported for medical treatment.”
“The individual is not affiliated with Auburn University, out of respect for privacy, the university will not release any additional information.”
