Opelika fire crews are working to extinguish a structure fire Tuesday afternoon.

The fire is taking place at a residence on Fitzpatrick Avenue between Simmons Street to Ermine Street. Firefighters and police officers were called to the scene around 1:36 p.m. central time on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026.
