Police presence reported in north Auburn; extra security measures in place at nearby elementary school

A heavy police presence has been reported in north Auburn.

The presence is happening in the 500 block of Shelton Mill Road. Sources say a possible shooting occurred at the Yugo apartment complex in the area.

Auburn Public Safety says Pick Elementary School, located on North College Street, has been placed in a secure state as a precautionary measure. Also located on North College Street, Cary Woods Elementary is on secure state, according to parents in the pickup line.

Police ask the public to avoid the area.
