Phenix City first responders are on the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler.

The collision occurred on Highway 280 just north of 22nd Avenue around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

We are told an 18-wheeler carrying liquid was involved. We are told at least one other vehicle was involved.

Phenix City fire crews and police officers shut down all lanes of the highway heading north, and at least one to two lanes southbound.

It is unclear if anyone was injured. The roadway remains shut down, as of 9:15 p.m.
