Police presence at Phenix City gas station and liquor store following alleged robbery

A local gas station and liquor store was the scene of an alleged robbery investigation Monday night.

Phenix City police patrol officers responded to the Alabama Wine and Spirits and BP gas station in the 3700 block of Opelika Road, near Copeland Drive.

At least five police cruisers were seen in the parking lot of the store around 10:20 p.m. eastern time on Monday, April 20, 2026.

A CARE Ambulance of the Haynes Division was spotted at the scene as well.

Police officers were seen walking in and around the front of the store.

It is unclear if anyone was injured. The investigation remains ongoing.
