A house fire in Phenix City was extinguished overnight.

Multiple fire engines responded to the scene around 4:10 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026, following reports of a large house fire in the 1600 block of 12th Place, which is located in a residential neighborhood off of Crawford Road in the city.

Viewer-submitted footage showed a large fire with a total structural collapse. Heavy flames and smoke could be seen coming from the structures, with nearby utility poles and grass also on fire.

The roadway was closed while fire operations were underway.
