The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a female inmate has died at the Muscogee County Jail.

Kimberly Golden, 44, died yesterday at the Muscogee County Jail after being found unresponsive in her cell.

Columbus Fire and EMS, and the Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

“The GBI was called to the scene as is part of our standard protocol to investigate the incident,” Sheriff Greg Countryman said. “The MCSO Special Operations investigators will work a parallel investigation alongside the GBI.”
