Severe thunderstorms moving through the region Sunday afternoon are causing power outages, roadway closures, and reports of downed trees across east Alabama and west Georgia.

EAST ALABAMA:

Barbour County, AL:

  • Power outages reported.

Chambers County, AL:

  • Several power outages across north part of the county.
  • Reports of trees down across the county.
  • Numerous outages reported in Valley.

Lee County, AL:

  • Lee Road 270, Beulah, tree down blocking the roadway
  • 5314 US HWY 431 N., Opelika, tree down blocking the roadway
  • 1637 Lee Rd 71, Camp, Hill, tree down blocking the roadway
  • Lee Rd 10/Lee Rd 394, Auburn, tree down blocking the roadway
  • US HWY 29 MM 199, tree down blocking the roadway
  • I-85, MM 64-66, tree down blocking the roadway

  • More trees in roadway on HWY 80 right off Tuskegee exit

Russell County, AL:

  • 4400 block of Sandfort Road, tree down blocking the roadway with lines down.
  • 3900 block of Sandfort Road, trees down.
  • N Herring Road, trees down.
  • Camp Parkman Road, trees down.
  • 4027 Uchee Hill Highway, trees down.
  • Hwy. 80 at Womack Road, tree down blocking the roadway.
  • Old Seale Highway at Mt. Zion Street, trees down blocking the roadway
  • 5400 Sandfort Road, tree down blocking roadway.

Tallapoosa County, AL:

  • Numerous power outages across the entire county.
  • Tree down blocking the roadway: in the 10000 block of Highway 63 N.
  • Multiple trees down and power outages reported in Alexander City.
  • Tree down in the 3200 block of Trussell Road (information via public safety radio)

WEST GEORGIA

Chattahoochee County, GA:

  • No power across the county.

Harris County, GA:

  • I-185 S at MM-34, trees down.
  • Reports of no power across the county.
  • Downtown Hamilton – no power.

Muscogee County, GA (Columbus):

  • Power outages reported across the city, with also reports of several trees down.
  • Macon Road near the shopping plaza – no power.

Troup County, GA (LaGrange)

  • Brantley Road at West Point Road, trees down.
  • EMA reports 40 calls for trees down.
  • Power outage in LaGrange, near Park Ave., Callaway Rd, etc.
  • West Point and Fling Rd. – several trees down
  • Warner Road near Webb-Bartley – tree down.

Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling and avoid any roads blocked by fallen trees, power lines, or emergency personnel. Residents should also stay clear of downed power lines and report outages directly to their utility provider.
