The power has been restored at the Muscogee County Jail following a short outage.

Reports of the outage came into CNAW2News around 3:15 p.m. eastern on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman confirmed the power has been restored.

Following the outage, Countryman says, the generators did not kick in. “The CCG facility maintenance test the generators monthly,” Countryman said.

The sheriff’s office dispatched additional patrol units to the jail to help with head count to ensure every inmate is accounted for.
