A death investigation is underway after two people were found dead near a vehicle on a woodedChambers County road.

A white female and a white male were found near a vehicle after deputies were dispatched to a vehicle parked on County Road 86 around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Agents from the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and Chambers County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.

“At this time, the bodies are being transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy to determine the cause of death,” the sheriff’s office said. “No names will be released at this time pending positive identification and notification of the next of kin.”
