Police presence at south Columbus McDonald’s after reported shots fired

Columbus police are investigating an incident Wednesday evening in the south end of the city.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the McDonald’s, located near the intersection of Victory Drive and South Lumpkin Road.

The incident happened in the drive-thru and parking lot area of the business.

CNAW2News.com saw crime scene investigators and patrol officers looking at a KIA in the parking lot. The passenger side door had at least two bullet defects to it.

CNAW2News spoke with a customer who was in the drive-thru when the incident happened. The customer, who did not want to be named, said the employees told her to roll her windows up and leave due to the shooting.

The business remains open despite the police presence, with customers ordering in the drive-thru.

No injuries were reported.
