Columbus fire crews respond to midday house fire, firefighter slightly burned

Columbus Fire and EMS responded to a house fire midday Friday.

The fire occurred at a vacant duplex shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, on Amos Street near Brown Avenue in the East Wynnton neighborhood of the city.

18-20 firefighters responded to the scene, according to Deputy Chief and Fire Marshal Daniel Macon.

Extreme Powersports ad that list all the available brands that they sell with yellow text that states "Need Powersports?"

Macon confirmed one firefighter was slightly burned and taken to a nearby hospital for medical advice.

A CNAW2News photographer responded to the scene, where they could see a brick-built duplex still standing with the interior charred.

The investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
