Columbus police are investigating a death Saturday afternoon.

The investigation is underway at Wilson Homes apartment complex at Building 309, near the intersection of Luther Place and 33rd Street.

According to police, a deceased person was located.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said a 24-year-old female was found dead in an apartment. The female will be sent for an autopsy in Atlanta. The cause and manner of death are unknown.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and their Crime Scene Investigations Division are on the scene, along with Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson.
