Multiple first responders are on the scene of a vehicle fire in central Russell County.

The scene is taking place on U.S. Highway 431 just north of Alabama Highway 26. The scene involves a vehicle fire that was reported around 3:14 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The southbound lane of Highway 431 is shut down while first responders work.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling in the area.
